PRESIDENT
Chuck Hempstead, MPA, CAE
Chuck Hempstead has spent his entire career in the association management profession. He has served as chief staff officer to an eight-county regional association and a statewide association.
His previous staff specialist positions include communications and government relations. He holds the designation of Certified Association Executive from the American Society of Association Executives.
Chuck earned degrees in speech communication and public affairs. With H&A, he is primarily responsible for client relations, governmental affairs, boards of directors' support and communications.
VICE PRESIDENT
Lauren Swetland, CMP
Lauren Swetland has been working with Hempstead & Associates since 2006. She brings marketing and public relations experience with several area nonprofit organizations, including a start-up. She specializes in membership recruitment and retention, as well as event management. She has a degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Women's and Gender Studies. She received the designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2010.
CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Jon Rodriguez
Jon Rodriguez is a lifelong Austin resident and is currently attending the Engineering Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Jon has years of experience in customer relations, with a focus on marketing and fundraising, which he combines with his technical knowledge. An experienced web and graphic designer, he lends his talents on a number of projects for all of our clients.

Ame Petry
Ame Petry is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee with a degree in Business Administration. She has extensive work experience with non-profits, where she developed a talent for volunteer and event management. Ame provides valuable knowledge of association structure and operation, having volunteered and interned with a variety of organizations in Austin.

Laura Tolin
Laura Tolin holds a BA in English from Sewanee, the University of the South, and a MFA in Theatre Arts from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Laura's diverse experience as both a college instructor and a playwright brings creativity and organization to her work. At Hempstead and Associates, Laura manages finances and creates new and interesting ways to reach out to members and clients through media.

Zack Phillips
Zack Phillips is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies with a Minor in History. Zack's experience in customer relations, combined with his non-profit volunteering experience, provide him with a keen concentration on client services; his past work in film production brings an energy and problem-solving mindset to the office. He focuses on reviewing each client's needs and streamlines the workflow so that each client receives staff support in a timely and professional manner.
